Schnuecks · 3D printing & homelab

I build the tools my printers and my homelab were missing.

3D printing enthusiast and homelab tinkerer from Germany. Whatever I build for my own setup, I share as open source – in case it helps you too.

Projects

Each one runs as a single Docker container, keeps your data at home and started as something I needed myself.

PlateShelf

Coming soon

A self-hosted archive for your 3D prints.

PlateShelf reads sliced files from Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer, Cura and others and shows them as clearly as your slicer does: plates with previews, print time, filament, costs and a 3D preview of the actual toolpaths.

  • Direct import from Bambu Lab, Prusa and Klipper printers
  • Print history with statistics, notes and photos of the result
  • User accounts, passkeys, single sign-on and daily backups
  • Six languages, light and dark theme
  • Python
  • Docker
  • three.js
  • Bambu Lab
  • Prusa
  • Klipper

RDAPI

Public beta

Your own server for the RustDesk app.

RDAPI adds what a household or a small team needs on top of your own ID and relay server: signing in to the app, an address book that follows you to every device, a device list and a history of incoming connections.

  • Address book per user with tags, synchronised between your devices
  • Device list with online status and a connection history
  • Two-factor sign-in, passkeys and single sign-on
  • Web interface in six languages, one container, one SQLite file
  • Python
  • Docker
  • SQLite
  • OpenID Connect

Print Roulette

Live

Spin the wheel and discover a random 3D print.

Print Roulette picks a model from MakerWorld, Printables, Cults3D or Thingiverse and links straight to its page – for the evenings when you want to print something but don't know what.

  • Prize wheel in the platform colours, or roll on one platform directly
  • Preview image, title and creator, filters for free models and NSFW
  • No database, no login, no tracking
  • Six languages, light and dark mode
  • Python

traefik-pihole-sync

Stable

Traefik hostnames as local DNS records in Pi-hole.

Start a container with a Host() rule and its name resolves on your network a minute later; remove it and the record goes away again. No more typing DNS entries by hand.

  • A, AAAA or CNAME records, for one or several Pi-holes
  • Only deletes records it created itself, with a delay and a dry-run mode
  • Small non-root container for amd64 and arm64
  • Python
  • Docker
  • Traefik
  • Pi-hole v6

In the workshop

Where the ideas come from – and how I like my tools to be.

Printers

Bambu Lab P2S · Prusa Mini+

The P2S does the everyday printing, the Mini+ makes sure PlateShelf also speaks Prusa.

Homelab

Docker · Traefik · Pi-hole

My own services at home, each in its own container behind a reverse proxy, with local DNS.

Code

Python · a bit of Shell

Small, readable projects with automated tests and CI on every change.

How I build

  • Self-hosted firstYour data stays on your own hardware. No cloud account, no subscription.
  • No trackingNo analytics, no cookies, no external resources – in the apps and on this site.
  • Open sourceCode on GitHub under AGPL-3.0 or MIT. Issues and ideas are welcome.
  • Made to shareSix languages, clear docs in English and German, one container to start.

Like what I build?

If one of my projects saves you time, you can buy me a coffee on Ko-fi. It keeps the printers running and the next idea coming.
